Van Gaal hints at Tottenham agreement
The Netherlands coach admits there is "a chance" he could fill the White Hart Lane vacancy as he is keen to manager in the Premier League, but only after the World Cup

Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal has hinted at interest in managing Tottenham, but not until after the 2014 World Cup.

Tim Sherwood has been handed control of first-team affairs in the interim, and again re-iterated his desire for full-time position after a 3-2 win over Southampton, but the 62-year-old is the latest to be linked.

Van Gaal - who has had previously spells in charge of the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich is currently tied to the Dutch national team until July, and rejected the notion of taking control of both teams simultaneously.

"I'll never comment on offers but everyone who knows me, knows that I won't do a job share", Van Gaal told NOS.

"I've always said I want to work in the Premier League eventually, so there's a chance. There are times a deal is announced and there are times it's in preparation. At that time there's no time for media.

"I’ve read also in the English media that Frank de Boer and Guus Hiddink are in the picture. All the agents do that. They think that's interesting. You never know if it's really like that."

Ajax head coach Frank De Boer recently described speculation linking him with the White Hart Lane vacancy as flattering, but insisted he has unfinished business at the Eredivisie champions.

Meanwhile, former manager Glenn Hoddle has made public his willingness to return - describing the club as "in his blood" after a life-long affiliation.
