The midfielder insists los Blancos have their fair
share of shortcomings, but are not as easily exposed thanks to their
great financial backing
Adrian Gonzalez is confident Rayo Vallecano can cause an upset by beating Real Madrid on Saturday if they can exploit weaknesses in Carlo Ancelotti's side.
The 25-year-old says los Blancos’ large budget allows the club to hide their shortcomings better than others, but insists there are flaws in the make-up of the capital club.
“They have their weaknesses, like every team,” he told the club’s official website.
“But they are fewer and for their technical and physical resources they are easier to hide.
“It is a very nice game. One is always motivated to play against these types of opponents.
“It is true that we are in a lowered position, but if you look at the table, three points can bring us back into a very good position.”
Vallecano currently sit 19th place in La Liga and sport the worst goal differential in Spain, but the midfielder insists they are better than their three win, eight loss record indicates.
“I believe that it is too early to panic and even more so knowing that this team is fighting and will fight to the end, in addition to playing a good game.
“For the players who are here and for the philosophy of the coach, this is a game to be won like any other. We want to push up from where we are in the table and why not do so against Madrid?
“To earn three points would be a great morale boost for us and for our fans. Moreover, the game is played at Vallecas and that is always important.”
