'Pogba won't become another of Real Madrid's throwaway washcloths'

The midfielder is not interested in leaving Juventus for the Spanish capital, according to his agent Mino Raiola, who was highly critical of their transfer policy

Mino Raiola says Paul Pogba won't become another of Real Madrid's "washcloths" who they buy before "throwing them into the trash".

There have been reports in recent weeks that the Champions League holders do not want to negotiate with the agent if they pursue a move for the Juventus star or any of the other players he represents.

In response, Raiola has slammed Madrid's transfer policy and criticised their purchase of James Rodriguez, who starred at the World Cup for Colombia before being swiftly signed from Monaco in the summer.

"If Real Madrid don't want Pogba, that's not a problem!" the midfielder's agent told L'Equipe. "They are a club that are used to buying players like they are washcloths then throwing them into the trash.

"They're a club who watch a player star in like six matches at the World Cup and buy them. Pogba doesn't want a club like that.

"We want Pogba to go to a club that believes in his potential. I don't necessarily close the door to Madrid, but it's certainly not a door that is open."

Raiola could also not resist also making grandiose claims about the future of the France midfielder, whom he insists will not simply go to the club offering the biggest salary.

"Everyone's saying that he is a player with some of the greatest potential ever seen," he added. "His contract was extended at Juventus until 2019 because that was the best thing for the club.

"Now, if another club was interested in Pogba, we'd hear them out, and not just discussing money. Paul will go to wherever he feels is best for him, to wherever makes him happy.

"Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti himself claimed Pogba is among the best young players in the world. I just know that wherever he goes he will be a huge success."

Pogba, 22, featured in Juventus' 3-0 demolition of Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, which sent them into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
