The Manchester United goalkeeper again came to his
side's rescue against Newcastle on Wednesday and the former Liverpool
centre-back has joked that he wants to see him leave
Former Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher has joked that he cannot wait to see David de Gea join Real Madrid as his outstanding performances continue to aid Manchester United's top-four push.
The Spain goalkeeper, 24, was again the star of the show at Newcastle on Wednesday as he thwarted the likes of Papiss Cisse and Emmanuel Riviere to help his side claim a valuable victory, courtesy of a late Ashley Young strike.
And although United are ready to ramp up contract talks in an attempt to tie down their No.1 goalkeeper, Real Madrid remain strongly linked and Carragher joked that the sooner he left for the Liga giants, the better.
He Tweeted: "Quicker De Gea goes to Real Madrid the better."
De Gea's team-mate Ander Herrera, meanwhile, was full of praise for the goalkeeper and believes United possess the best in the world in his position.
He said: "I think we have maybe the best goalkeeper in the world and he showed it again tonight."
