Cavani dismisses transfer talk: I want to repay PSG's faith in me

Transfer Talk: Utd plot €81m Cavani bid

The Uruguay international continues to be linked with a number of top clubs, but he says that he is perfectly happy at the Parc des Princes

Edinson Cavani has rubbished persistent reports that he is unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, revealing that he is determined to repay the club's continued faith in him.

The Uruguay international joined the Ligue 1 champions from Napoli for €64.5 million in July 2013 and initially struggled to justify his lofty price tag.

Indeed, it was claimed that Cavani was upset at having to play out wide in order to facilitate the inclusion of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the centre of the PSG attack and the 27-year-old was heavily linked with a move to England last summer.

Cavani continues to be the subject of incessant transfer talk, with Italian titleholders Juventus emerging as the latest club to allegedly retain an interest in the versatile attacker, but the man himself says he has no desire to leave the Parc des Princes.

"I've always said I'm very happy being here," he told Perform. "It's a club that is growing, has a very nice and attractive project and it always makes you happy to be part of this project.

"Sincerely, like I said it many times, one thing that fills me with pleasure is to end a match and go to sleep peacefully knowing I contributed with my best for the team.

"Many times you can't score goals, and a very important thing is knowing that you gave the best for your team-mates and that you had the intention to make things happened the best way.

"Today I'm great here in Paris, I'm happy, my family is well and every time they come they enjoy. We have a great team, like I said there's a nice project backing the club and I'm beginning my way in Paris.

"I want to give them the best, I hope I can give the best to this club and repay the confidence the president placed on me when he signed me in. The same confidence the coach gives me and also my team-mates."

Cavani has netted eight times in 22 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season.
