The Germany international is hoping to restore some
pride and give his side a confidence boost ahead of the remainder of the
season in Tuesday's Champions League clash
Schalke midfielder Roman Neustadter believes the second leg of their Champions League tie with Real Madrid cannot be any worse than the 6-1 loss in Germany.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema ran riot at the Veltins Arena as Caro Ancelotti's side recorded a comprehensive victory to all but book their place in the quarter-finals.
However, the Germany international is determined to restore some pride at the Santiago Bernabeu in Tuesday's return match.
"It can't be any worse than the first leg," he told Der Westen.
"No one expects that we can win there, but we want to soak up the atmosphere in the stadium and show that we are good at football.
"It's a knockout round. We know that we are as good as out through the first leg, but this game can give us a shot in the arm, especially for the younger players.
"We'll try to present ourselves differently and get a better reslult. Every player watches Real Madrid matches anyway. We'll just try to bring our performance and if we can do that, I hope we can take a boost from Madrid."
