Hyypia: Leverkusen can make life difficult for Bayern

The former Liverpool player says if his team play with the same intensity as they did against PSG in midweek, they will give Pep Guardiola's men a tough test

Bayer Leverkusen coach Sami Hyypia believes his side can put up a good fight against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Leverkusen have lost seven of their last eight games in all competitions and crashed out of the Champions League this week as they threw away a lead to lose 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain, going out 6-1 on aggregate.

But Hyypia says his side will give Bayern, who are unbeaten in all competitions since December, a test when they meet in the Allianz Arena on league duty.

"If we take to the pitch with the right attitude, we can make life very difficult for Bayern,” the 40-year-old told the Bundesliga’s official website.

"If we can hold our own against Paris for as long as we did, we can do the same against Bayern."

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno says he is anticipating a difficult game for himself and his team but maintains they have nothing to fear as they face up against the reigning World, European and German champions.

"We respect Bayern, but we're not scared of them," the Germany Under-21 goalkeeper said.

"I'll have a lot of work to do in Munich, but we're not going just to throw the game away. Even if it's only a point, we want to get something from the game."
