Balotelli can become a crazy player, says Zola

Balotelli can become a crazy player, says Zola
The 47-year-old has little doubt that the striker can achieve great things, while he has tipped Napoli and Roma to challenge Juventus to the Scudetto

Former Italy international Gianfranco Zola believes AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has the potential to become one of the best players in the world.

The 23-year-old forward has developed into one of the undisputed stars of Serie A since his return to Italy from Manchester City in January and Zola feels that, with the right attitude, the Rossoneri ace could go on to become a true global star.

"Balotelli has enormous potential," the legendary No.10 was quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport.

"He just has to find a way to fulfil his potential and to get the best out of himself. If that happens, he can become a crazy player.

"He can help Italy's national team make the next step forward. Cesare Prandelli is best suited to handle him and get the best out of him."

Zola also had his say on the title race in Serie A, arguing that Napoli and Roma have the quality to challenge two-time defending champions Juventus for this season's Scudetto.

"Roma and Napoli are the two teams that can make life difficult for Juventus," he opined. "Roma have impressed me with their good results and the way they play.

"Napoli on the other hand have a great coach and they're not lacking anything in the race for the Scudetto."

Roma currently lead Serie A with seven wins from as many games, holding a two-point lead over Napoli, with whom they lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday evening.
