The 27-year-old, who will miss Saturday’s Derby
d’Italia with an injury, believes victory over the Nerazzurri would
grant a timely boost of confidence
Claudio Marchisio has warned that Inter will make life extremely difficult for Juventus in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia.
The Nerazurri brought the Serie A champions' 49-game unbeaten run to an end in Turin last season as a brace from Diego Milito inspired his side to a 3-1 win, although the Bianconeri exacted revenge with a 2-1 win in Milan in March.
Marchisio has urged his team-mates to be fully focused against Walter Mazzarri's "fierce" outfit this weekend, stating that a win over their rivals would grant a timely confidence boost so early in the season.
"Inter have always made it difficult for us," he told reporters.
"They beat us last year and also have a new coach. They are capable of playing good, fierce football.
"For us to beat a strong team like Inter on the third day of the season would be a real boost of confidence."
The Italy international will miss the clash after picking up an injury in the 4-1 Supercoppa clash with Lazio.
He added: "I am sorry not to be there, but the team is doing well. I have great confidence in my team-mates."
