Cleverley 'hungry' to retain Manchester United's title
The 24-year-old, who picked up his first Premier League medal last term, believes the club's "intense" training sessions create the desire to win trophies

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley says he is determined to retain the Premier League title this term.

The 24-year-old made 22 appearances for Sir Alex Ferguson's side in last season's title-winning campaign and, after experiencing his first victory parade through the streets of Manchester, is eager to repeat the feat.

“Having that first title medal under your belt means a lot,” Cleverley told Inside United.

“It’s a relief to get the first medal, but it also makes you determined to win more. Experiencing that victory parade is something you want to do again and again and again.

“It was a very special day, which I’ll never forget, but I don’t just want that to happen once – I want it to happen many times. We’ve got that taste now and it makes us even hungrier.”

Cleverley insists the desire to win trophies stems from "intense" training sessions which he believes has helped him develop as a player.

“You see that in training every day. It’s always competitive. It can put you in a bad mood if you lose in training," he said.

“It’s the most competitive training around, which makes it intense, sharp and helps you improve.”
