The Premier League champions lodged a €30 million bid
for the Barcelona midfielder on Monday, and the Dutchman admits he is
keen for a reunion with his former Arsenal team-mate
Robin van Persie has indicated he would like to see former Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas join Manchester United.
The Premier League champions lodged a €30 million bid for the Barcelona midfielder on Monday, with manager David Moyes hopeful of receiving "good news" regarding the offer in the near future.
However, he was quick to underline that he has not been in contact with his former team-mate.
Barcelona, meanwhile, maintain Fabregas wants to stay at Camp Nou, but Moyes is keen to strengthen United's central-midfield position after failing to lure Bayern Munich new-boy Thiago Alcantara to Old Trafford ealier in July.
Moyes told The Times: "When I got the job, I was made aware of what could possibly be done to improve things, and signing a midfield player was one that we thought we could possibly add to the squad.
"At the moment that’s probably our priority - to try and add a player in that position."
