The France No.1 believes that the experience of
adapting to England and displacing Brad Friedel will set him up to do
even better in the north Londoners' 2013-14 campaign
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris expects that having one season of Premier League football under his belt will allow him to improve further in 2013-14.
The Frenchman joined Spurs from Lyon last summer and had to wait for his league debut until October, when he eventually displaced Brad Friedel as Andre Villas-Boas’s No.1 and went on to earn rave reviews.
Lloris told the Tottenham and Wood Green Journal: "I think it will be easier next season because I will have one season behind me, with one season of experience of the Premier League.
"It was maybe not easy at the beginning because the manager made the choice [to retain Friedel early on], which I respect," he added, "but after that, when I got to play a run of games, it was better for me and now I really appreciate playing for Tottenham and playing at White Hart Lane with great fans.
"They travel everywhere, in Europe or in England, and I have a big respect for that - and I think all the other players do as well.
"I think there is a big communion in White Hart Lane between the players and the fans. We won a lot of important games this season, like against Arsenal and Manchester City, where we felt the power of the fans. It's a great feeling.
"I had a lot of good moments this season. I hope to have great moments in the future and I also hope to win trophies with Tottenham.
"It's very important for the club and also for the players and the supporters to grow up together - and why not do that next season?"
