Ramos praises Madrid target Ancelotti

Ramos would welcome Ancelotti to Madrid move
The Spain international has spoken highly of the former Chelsea and Milan trainer, who has been strongly linked with the vacant position at Real Madrid

Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos has praised Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti, calling him a "great coach".

The Parisiens trainer has been strongly linked with a move to Madrid after enjoying a successful season in 2012-13, guiding his team to a first Ligue 1 title in 19 years as well as the Champions League quarter-finals.

Ancelotti has made it clear he wants to leave the Parc des Princes, and with Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes ruling himself out of the vacant post, the Italian boss is a firm favourite which sits well with Ramos.

"I'm not one to say which ... I prefer but Ancelotti is a great coach," the 27-year-old was quoted as saying by ABC.es. "But I do not decide; club officials will."

The defender also spoke about outgoing boss Jose Mourinho's decision to return to Chelsea's helm after six years.

"It is not new that Mourinho likes Chelsea and Inter," said the Spain international. "He has always opted for them. He returns to the Premier [League] and I think the Premier [League] is the competition for him.

"[It is] his place, where he always felt more at ease. The matter is [now] closed with his exit. As in big families, there have been good times and bad."

Finally, the Seville-born star spoke about signing of 21-year-old former Blancos full-back Daniel Carvajal from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported €6.5m fee.

Ramos added: "It is a great signing. [He is] a homegrown player I know very well. He will give great performances for this team."
