The former Sevilla winger says he had decided the
Etihad Stadium would be his next destination some time ago and looks
forward to potentially linking up with Manuel Pellegrini
Jesus Navas says he is delighted to have finally completed his move from Sevilla to Manchester City and is excited by the club's ambitious plans for the future.
The Spain international midfielder sealed a €20 million move to the Etihad Stadium after previously spending his entire career at the Liga outfit.
The right-sided winger revealed that he had chosen Man City as his next destination some four months ago, and is thrilled that the deal has finally been confirmed.
"I'm so happy to be joining Manchester City. It's a good opportunity and I think both sides are happy," he told reporters.
"I took the decision to go to City four months ago."
Manuel Pellegrini is expected to be announced as Roberto Mancini's successor at the Etihad and Navas says he is looking forward to working with the Chilean manager.
"I still haven't spoken to Manuel Pellegrini but he is a coach that I know," the Spaniard added.
The former Malaga coach could also bring attacking midfielder Isco with him to the Premier League, a move which Navas would welcome as he attempts to adjust to life in England's top-flight.
"I don't know if Isco will come too. We'll have to see. The Premier League is very fast and I'm very excited because Manchester City are putting a very good team together," he continued.
"I'm leaving Sevilla, which is a beautiful place and I'm going to a big club in England. I'm still not comfortable speaking English though. I'll have to study now.
"The most important thing with the deal is that everyone wins. I leave Sevilla very grateful for everything and hope to achieve big things at City."
