The 20-year-old is expected to sit out his first
games at Bayern Munich as he continues to suffer from a thigh problem he
picked up against Real Madrid
Mario Gotze is in danger of missing the start of next season ahead of his move to Bayern Munich due to a long-standing thigh problem.
The youngster, who signed for the Bavarian giants from Borussia Dortmund for a fee in the region of €37 million, had picked up a thigh problem during BVB's second-leg Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.
He was initially hopeful of making the final of the competition but later suffered a relapse of the injury and it now seems he has picked up a rupture of the muscle.
And it looks like he will not recover in time to join his new club in their season preparations for the 2013-14 campaign under new coach Pep Guardiola.
During his time at the Signal Iduna Park, Gotze emerged into one of Jurgen Klopp's key players, helping die Schwarzgelben to their 2010-11 and 2011-12 Bundesliga titles as well as the 2012 DFB-Pokal.
He scored 16 goals and set up 15 more during the course of the 2012-13 campaign as BVB finished as runners-up in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, both to Bayern.
