The experienced keeper does not have any fears that the former Manchester City forward will waste his talent
Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar is confident AC Milan star Mario Balotelli will not follow in the footsteps of former Inter striker Adriano.
Ten years ago the Brazil striker was one of the hottest prospects in world football, but after a prolific spell with the Nerazzurri, the now 33-year-old's career has nosedived in spectacular fashion.
Adriano remains without a club after leaving Flamengo last year, following unsuccessful stays with Roma and Corinthians, sandwiched in between two spells with Mengao, after departing San Siro in 2009.
However, Julio Cesar is confident that Balotelli, who he played alongside when the pair were team-mates at Inter, will stay on the right track and fulfill his potential.
"There's no need to worry over Balotelli. He will not end like Adriano," Julio Cesar was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Yes, he is quite temperamental and he tends to react when he's provoked. That's a mistake, but he's learning from his mistakes.
"He's a healthy guy and very loyal. He doesn't have any mental problems. I can see him becoming one of the stars of world football."
Balotelli played a key role in Italy's 2-1 Confederations Cup win over Mexico at the weekend as he netted the winner in the closing stages of the encounter.
