The club's vice-president has dismissed the possibility of the team moving to another federation
Jean-Louis Campora says it would be impossible for Monaco to play in Serie A, following an ongoing dispute with the Professional Football League (LFP).
The organisation state that all clubs playing in Ligue 1 next season must have a head office based in France, meaning the Monegasque-based side would have to uproot from their current headquarters.
Monaco appear set for promotion to the top flight, as they lead the Ligue 2 standings by five points, but though they continue to oppose the directive the side's vice-president, Campora, has rubbished suggestions the club could look to play in another division.
"It is inconceivable that the club could go and join another federation other that the French federation. It's totally impossible. That is why we believe that the measures taken by the league are measures of exclusion," he told RMC Sport.
Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev bought two thirds of the club in 2011 and his financial backing saw Claudio Ranieri installed as coach last summer.
That big-money backing has seen a host of big names linked with moves to Monaco and Campora believes the prospect of additional competition in Ligue 1 next season has sparked a jealous reaction in the top flight.
"The current crisis in French football is a major crisis," he added.
"If tomorrow there is a different show with people who come over, there will be TV rights and additional revenue.
"We will have more clubs that will be able to build stronger teams, the league will be more interesting and the economy will work better."
