Manchester United defender Phil Jones says he wants to become a more complete player by adding goals to his game.

The 21-year-old has just two goals in his entire career, both of which arrived within four days of each other last season when he scored the winner for the Red Devils against Aston Villa in December 2011 before grabbing a late consolation against Basel in the Champions League.

The England international was disappointed not to convert the two headed chances he was presented with against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday and says he needs to work on that aspect of his game.

"The first one was easier, I think I should have put that one away," he told reporters.

"The second chance was a bit more difficult. If it had been in the air for a couple more seconds, I might have got on the end of it with a cleaner connection.

"Scoring is probably something I need to work on. Hopefully I’ll get one before the end of the season."

The former Blackburn player says United were disappointed to leave north London with a point because it means they can no longer break Chelsea's total points record in the Premier League.

"In the first half, I would have said a point was a good result," added Jones.

"But having seen what we put on in the second half, we are disappointed not to have come away with all three points."

Jones' eyes are now set on lifting the Premier League trophy in front of United's fans on May 12 after their encounter with Swansea.

"Winning the league is obviously something you dream of as a kid. It's going to be an amazing day when we lift the trophy," he added.
