'Madrid can score three against anyone'

'Madrid can score three against anyone'

The former goalkeeper was part of the Zaragoza side who almost let a 6-1 Copa del Rey lead slip against the Blancos, and has warned the current side can overhaul Borussia Dortmund

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Cesar believes Jose Mourinho's side are more than capable of reversing their 4-1 Champions League semi-final deficit to Borussia Dortmund.

An inspired performance from Robert Lewandowski led Dortmund to a comprehensive first-leg triumph last week which leaves Madrid needing at least a 3-0 win to progress to the final.

However, Cesar - who was part of the Real Zaragoza side which almost saw a 6-1 Copa del Rey first-leg lead slip away at Santiago Bernabeu in 2005 - believes los Blancos are capable of pulling off the result they need, no matter who the opposition might be.

"I remember looking at the video screen and seeing that, after 10 minutes, we were trailing 3-0," he reflected to Marca on the Copa del Rey clash. "We didn't have to wait until the 90th minute, we lost it in those first 10. It was brutal.

"I remember that [Gabriel] Milito looked at me and we couldn't believe it when we looked at the scoreboard and saw we were 3-0 behind.

"I think a goal every 30 minutes at the Bernabeu is possible against any team. It's certain that, with the motivation and will to win that they have, it will be much closer this time.

"It's true that they have to be careful, because Borussia has a good team, a team that can hurt you on the counter, and this would make things more complicated...

"Madrid have to score a goal every half-hour, and I think that's feasible. A 3-0 at the Bernabeu against any team would not be strange."
