Andres Iniesta insists people are being unfair on Barcelona after their 4-0 loss against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final
The Catalans have been heavily criticised in the aftermath of their shock defeat at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, with many claiming the loss signals the end of an era.
However, Iniesta has stressed it is too soon to write off Barcelona and is adamant they deserve more respect.
"I believe people are being too unfair to the team [after the loss against Bayern]," Iniesta was quoted as saying on the official Barca website.
"In the last five seasons we have won three Champions Leagues, reached three more semi-finals , we are on the point of taking our fourth league title, Super Cups. What a record!
"We have spent many years fighting for everything. For me, you can talk about the end of an era when we have gone a while without winning anything. I think this team has done enough to deserve respect."
