The report claims Eriksen will be available at the end of the season after refusing an extension to his current contract in Amsterdam. His present deal expires at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, and Ajax would rather recoup some money for their latest star academy product than risking losing him for free.
But the fee would be less than Ajax would have hoped for had the Denmark international signed a new deal, and the short-term nature of his contract means the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs feel they could pick up a bargain this summer.
