Chelsea transfer news: Jose Mourinho close to agreeing deal to take over at Chelsea

Mourinho looks set to leave Madrid in the summer despite guiding the club to the Copa del Rey final and keeping alive their hopes of claiming a historic 10th European Cup this season, amidst rumours of in-fighting behind the scenes.
The Portuguese boss set tongues wagging over the weekend by suggesting he could be on the move at the end of the season, reportedly telling Football Italia: "I have an adventurous spirit and do not know what will happen next season.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris-Saint Germain have all been mooted as possible destinations for Mourinho but it appears as though he could be on his way back to Stamford Bridge.
The Mail report that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants Mourinho to return and is close to finalising an agreement with the 50-year-old.

The former Inter Milan boss was due back at Stamford Bridge last night as a guest of the Brazilian FA for the Seleção's game against Russia in west London - however he was not spotted.
Mourinho would take over from out-going interim boss Rafa Benitez, who was temporarily installed following the departure of Roberto di Matteo earlier this season.
Mourinho's first spell in charge of Chelsea came to an end in 2007 after a reported falling out with Abramovich, however their relationship is said to have thawed in recent years and the pair are ready to work together again.
